I went to doll club today and took some pictures of Maria and Ashley's Barbie Basics, poorly articulated Barbies in little black dresses. The variety of headmolds represents common and rare ones. Below, a sampling.

I really like the Goddess and the Carnivale headsculpts (ethnic variations, yay!) I really wish that the Basics bodies weren't a big pile of fail. Even with the head and the little black dresses together i can't justify dropping twenty on 'em. :(

That first one is the Steffie face mold, I think. I'll bring a vintage one along next time. It's a favorite face mold of mine! The black dress series is brilliant, due to the elegance of their posing - I want at least one, and perhaps more! Uh oh, they're like potato chips!

It's actually the Lea/Kayla headsculpt--the Goddess sculpt shows up in this line with very dark skin (which is how it originally was used by Mattel)
