...I ended up starting Jareth's faceup tonight with Prismacolor colored pencils directly on unsealed resin.

Naturally, the earth crashed into the sun, ending life as we know it. Also, this happened:

That's black PC935 overlaid with dark umber PC947 for the eyebrows, black PC935 for the lashes and peach PC939 for the mouth.
I'm not done yet. I need to refine the eyeliner, especially at the outer edges and the bottom. I should throw in a little pink in the inner corners of the eyes, add some color to the top lip and darken the smiley edges of the mouth. I also need to add some shadows under his eyes. I also need to get some more paint remover because the alcohol does not corrode the Prismacolor as quickly as my [defunct] paint remover does.
Jareth is never getting one of those tedious, layered, subtle, gauzy faceups. No, that would not do for him because he's a caricature. He's anything but subtle. He just needs a simple, rough, lively enhancement of his already very expressive sculpt. Fortunately, I excel at sketchy, half-assed faceups. I'm not gonna even seal his, as it's easy enough to touch up.
Stay tuned as the Desecration of Resin continues.
