Lexical annoyances part II
Aug. 27th, 2008 10:30 am1. "Definitely" is frequently misspelled "definately." Yeah, that's how people pronounce it, but it's wrong.
2. "Who's" != "Whose." "Who's" = "Who is" or "Who has." "Whose" is the possessive form, meaning "belonging to whom."
Whose bringing the cupcakes? WRONG.
Whose turn is it to bring cupcakes? RIGHT.
Who's bringing the cupcakes? RIGHT.
Who's turn is it to bring cupcakes? WRONG AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGH.
