Some of my LHF kidsies need some toys! I have plenty of books, dolls and stuffed animals, but I would like to get some more. I'm trying to think of sources for the following:
  • Cars, trains, trucks, construction equipment, planes, helicopters, rockets, etc.
  • Blocks.
  • Horses.
  • Games.
  • Musical instruments such as drums, keyboards, xylophones, recorders, whistles, etc.

For games, they used to make keychain games that even had some pieces to them. Blocks...get a small square dowel rod, cut off pieces, and paint. Vehicles and animals....gumball machines? Or! If you have a miniatures store nearby. I know downtown Glendale has Auntie Em's Miniatures. They have a website, but it doesn't look like they have anything ON it. Try the dollhouse section of Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Since these are toys for kidlets, they don't have to be perfect sixth-scale.

How old are the kids tho? Minis might be a swallow-able size and are probably best left to older children.

Oh.

Sorry. Had no clue what LHF meant. Figured it was an organization or school or daycare or scout group or... something, and she wanted toys for a playroom or a project. *shrug* Shows what happens when you guess. But I can't keep on top of all the letters anymore.

Little Happy Friends? ^_^

PS if that's the case the party-favors store is an even better idea because they have those bags of cheap prizes they sell. WHEE! Scads of tiny toys on the cheap!

Love Has Fangs, the comic she creates with her action figures. And a lot of the party favors (at least the ones I've seen) are too big for sixth-scale children's toys. Believe me, I've looked. :)

That sounds so fun! I want a link to this comic if it is online.

Also, if a specific scale is desired... this takes some work, but, it is fairly inexpensive and TONS of fun to create your own miniature whatever using polymer clay! That way it can look any way you want. It's time-consuming and not everybody's idea of a great hobby of course, but it's a thought. :)
