Janna and I went to the Vermont Rails Train Show at the Champlain Valley Fairgrounds in Essex Junction, VT, yesterday. Woo hoo! We enjoyed ourselves immensely. I took 273 pictures in the hopes of getting at least 25% of them to develop acceptably.

Here is the layout by the Adirondack and Lake Champlain Railroad, or, as the sign says, their "model R.R."

I liked the Esso service station frequented by little classic cars.

I also liked the demolition of the tiny building.

Mini gondolas!

Heterosexism and misogyny!

Here is the Vermont Garden Railway Society's layout. The scale ranges from 1:22 to 1:36.

Racism!

Another shot of racism!

This amusement park was my favorite part of the layout.

You're familiar with the Miniatur Wunderland in Germany? It's a permanent modern model train...well, 'extravaganza' is a good word for it...spanning several old warehouses in Hamburg, and still growing (there are YouTube videos where Gerrits, the obviously-proud owner, scampers around the cavernous spaces into which the place will expand...)
