I hate it when beautiful animation and character design is ruined by a threadbare universalization of gender essentialism. Shame too because they're exquisite human/plant hybrids. They're not technically therianthropes because they're not human/non-human animal hybrids, but I'm tagging them as such so I can find them again.

Especially because plants are kinky, kinky bastards. They need bestiality to reproduce for heaven's sake. :P And it takes on a new level with them because it's wrong enough in people but at least we are IN the animal kingdom. Plants fuck by wooing the attentions of beings so far removed from how they operate that I can't even think of some disturbing metaphor to describe how depraved they are.
