Polly my little mermaid is done!
Jul. 29th, 2014 06:13 pmWell, I mean that I have finished her wig and faceup. I still need to make her "I BELIEVE [in Champ]" shirt and her customized wheelchair. Maybe I should take some inspiration from one of my digital models and give her a steampunk power chair!!

I made her wig, as usual, out of faux fur, sewing a lock back out of her face so that I could see her cute little expression. I deliberately kept her faceup minimal and very stylized, since I love her headsculpt too much to distract from it with a complex paint job. Eyebrows, eyelid lines and lip line are all slate blue acrylic. Her lips and the light wash on her eyelids are cerulean chalk pastel mixed with satin varnish [because otherwise the chalk pastel doesn't adhere well].
