New Soom Faery Legend...eventually...

Soom indirectly confirmed that a new Faery Legend will be part of their Xmas Event [previously enthused about here]!!! Their recent post about this year's holiday event states that Faery Legends are not eligible for it. They have yet to release a Faery Legend this month, but this post implies that they will. I am quite excited, but not as excited as I will be when they finally release this mystery doll. I feel like I've been waiting for an exceptionally long time for it....

Dollars for Scholars Train Show, Winooski, VT, 12/01/12: photos for Janna

We went to the Dollars for Scholars Train Show at Winooski Educational Center this morning. Janna, having not been to a train show in many years, happily geeked out. ^_^ She asked me to take pictures of the following for her. I'm not going to add much in the way of commentary since I know very little about the details. I'm sure she'll help me out. ^_^

Dollars for Scholars Train Show, Winooski, VT, 12/01/12: Lego layout overview

My favorite part of the train show was a playful Lego layout put together by Barb Pitfido, who lives and teaches in Winooski. She spent weeks constructing this incredibly detailed cityscape populated by hundreds of Lego minifigs. There was a train in there, but it was pretty incidental. I was much more entertained by the hilarious vignettes Barb had added across the tiny landscape. These photos provide an overview of the entire layout.
